Shoring

Are you feeling a little… unstable? We can help! We offer several different types of shoring for any excavation that shows up on your bid list!

Aluminum Shoring

Hydraulic Aluminum Shoring

Hydraulic Vertical Shores

Hydraulic Vertical Shores offer a lightweight, versatile solution for both B and C-60 soil types. Vertical hydraulic shores can be ordered “bare” and installed up to 15’ deep, or with boards attached to the rails which are required in C-60 soil and any time loose material or fissures/sloughing are present. Boards can also come loose, and slid in the excavation behind the rails giving even more versatility when installing near existing utilities. Vertical hydraulic shores are available in widths from 17” to 15’, and heights from 1.5’ to 16’. Vertical hydraulic shores can also be stacked in certain soil types allowing deeper installation in correspondence with the manufacturers tabulated data.

The modular aluminum trench box is one of the most commonly used types of shoring in the civil industry. The components are made up of trusted aluminum panels 2’ tall and 2’ wide to 2’tall and 14’ wide. Depending on soil conditions, the BAB system can be installed in depths up to 12’ in C-60 soil. These trench boxes can be ordered in 2, 3, or 4 sided configurations, come as a square, rectangle, or even other shapes in order to properly fit your excavation. Other accessories include: BAB wheel kit, 2’ tall legs, doors, and ladder hangers.

CPS rentals recognizes the industry’s turn from large, expensive, fuel consuming machinery to smaller compact machinery. We hate for the only reason you have to go with a bigger machine is only to be able to lift our trench boxes! A viable option for smaller equipment is the Aluminum Shield. In sizes from 10’ to 20’ long and 4’ to 10’ tall, we can help your overall budget when it comes to choosing the equipment that works with your machine. Aluminum boxes generally weigh 50% of their steel counterpart and have any about a 25% less depth rating.

Steel Shoring

Steel Shield/Trench Box

Steel Shields are the “old faithful” in the shoring world! Our 8’ and 10’ tall steel shields come with a hybrid knife edge. This allows you to utilize advantages of a knife edge box when in a situation you need to “dig and push” to install the box into loose soil, while maintaining the ability to still stack for deeper excavations.

Steel Manhole Box. Our boxes come in sizes 4’x10 all the way up to 10’x28’. We even have some specialty sizes such as 10×10 and 12×12 which can be configured as 2, 3, or 4 sided.

Our 2 sided manhole boxes are the most versatile manhole boxes in the industry! They have the classic feel and use of a 4 sided, but with larger door configurations, or the ability to use as a 2, 3, or 4 sided manhole box, you have a better ability to install around existing utilities and greater visibility inside the box.

We offer several accessories to be used with all of our steel shoring such as walkways, (8’, 10’, 12’) ladder hangers which include 3’ egress posts, wheel kit, and a “pit kit,” which allows a trench box to be configured as 3 or 4 sided. This can replace slide rail and the expenses that come with it in some circumstances.

Engineered Shoring

Beam and Plate Shoring

Beam and plate systems are ideal for excavations where a retaining wall is necessary. H beams are driven vertically into the ground, and our steel road plates are then slid inside the flanges to hold back the material. We offer H beams from 10’ tall to 40’ tall and steel plates up to 20’ long.

Slide rail shoring utilizes a series of vertical posts, steel panels, and roller carts. Slide rail is ideal for wide excavations in poor soil conditions, by utilizing a “tie back system,” slide rail can offer a wide open pit/work area which is ideal for installing large vaults, or tanks.
